MediNote – Terms of Service

By using the MediNote app you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.

Purpose of the app

MediNote is a productivity tool that records dictation, converts it to text using a speech-to-text service, and lets you edit and email the resulting note. It is intended to help medical professionals draft their own notes. It is not a medical device, is not intended for diagnosis or treatment, and must not be relied upon for clinical decision-making.

Transcription accuracy

Speech-to-text is produced by an automated AI service and may contain errors, omissions, or misheard words, including in medical terminology, names, numbers, and dosages. You must read and verify every transcription before saving, sending, or otherwise relying on it. You are solely responsible for the final content of your notes.

Your responsibility

• You are responsible for the content you dictate and for where you send it.
• If you dictate personal or health data about other people, you must comply with all applicable laws (including data-protection and medical-confidentiality rules such as the GDPR) and with your employer’s or institution’s policies, and obtain any required consents.
• You are responsible for providing and safeguarding your own Groq API key and for any usage or costs incurred under it.

Third-party services

MediNote relies on third-party services to work: Groq for speech-to-text transcription, and the email app and email provider you choose for sending notes. Your use of these services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, or data handling.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do our best to keep the app working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app, including inaccurate transcriptions, lost or mis-sent notes, or the handling of data by third-party services.
