Mipa is a voice-first personal assistant for managing your own tasks, ideas, shopping lists and reminders. You speak a request, the app turns your speech into text, an AI assistant decides what you asked for and performs it in the app, and the reply can be read back to you aloud. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
Mipa has no user account, sign-in, or registration of any kind. There is no server operated by us, and we hold no personal profile about you.
The following is stored locally on your device only, in an on-device database and in the Android encrypted key store:
This data never leaves your device except in the cases described below, and only when you trigger them.
When you press and hold the microphone button, the app records audio. Recording happens only while you are actively holding the button and only after you grant microphone permission. The recording is sent for transcription (see below) and is not retained as an audio file afterwards; only the recognized text is kept on your device.
To work, Mipa sends data over the internet to the following service providers, all located in the United States:
Whatever you dictate, and the entries the assistant needs to answer you, are therefore transmitted to these providers. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies, linked above. If an API key for a service is not configured, that service is not contacted at all and the app falls back to an offline demo behaviour.
You can enter your own API keys on the app’s Settings screen; they are stored in encrypted storage on your device. Test builds distributed to a closed group of testers may ship with keys pre-configured by the developer, in which case requests to the above services are billed to the developer’s accounts. Keys are never transmitted anywhere except to the corresponding service provider, to authenticate your requests.
If you grant calendar permission, the app can read events from and write events to the calendars already configured on your device, so that it can schedule what you ask for and warn you about conflicts. This happens through the Android calendar provider on your device. The app does not upload your calendar anywhere; if your calendar is synchronized with an online account (such as Google Calendar), that synchronization is performed by Android and your calendar provider, not by Mipa.
Reminders are delivered as local notifications generated on your device. They are scheduled and re-scheduled locally, including after a restart. No push service or remote server is involved.
If you ask the assistant to write an email, Mipa prepares a draft and opens your device’s email app with it pre-filled. The app itself never sends email and does not connect to any mail server; delivery is handled entirely by the email app and provider you choose, and their privacy policies apply once the message leaves Mipa.
Mipa contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind. It does not collect, sell, or share your data with anyone other than the AI service providers described above, and only to provide the features you use.
Mipa is not directed at children and is intended for use by adults managing their own tasks and notes.
All entries and settings are local. Uninstalling the app permanently removes everything it stored. See Account & Data Deletion for details, including data handled by the AI providers.
